A new year can bring about worlds of change. Whether it be with work, school or even your personal style, braving though the unknown and making every moment count is what us Fashionistas/os do best. Before the New Year begins, make sure you stay one step ahead of the fashion curve with a bit of rustic charm.

This Fashionista had a wonderful ensemble fit for chilly weather. While many people plan for which glittery skirts and leather outerwear they will showcase on New Year’s Eve, its outfits like this that can be worn well into the spring. This Fashionista wore a light button-down blouse that contrasted in shape with her slim-fit jeggings. This first layer serves as a guaranteed chic base of any winter outfit. It gives off a casual vibe while still encompassing a bit of structure. She was obviously inspired by menswear styling, with her slightly peeking socks and distressed combat boots. By itself, the inner layers of her look have a clean minimalist feel. But once the inner layers are given an unexpected twist, a completely different statement is made.

To top off her look and pull her whole look in a new direction, this Fashionista wore a gorgeous tweed blazer. Not your average preppy outerwear, this brown blazer has more a warm and distressed look. Because of its rough texture and rich hue, this equestrian piece is an instant statement that gives an ensemble shape and definition. A blazer like this can be worn over anything from a simple tee in the winter to a floral dress in the spring. And, regardless of how you choose to style it, chances are that the perfect vintage equestrian piece is waiting for you at your local thrift store.

Not many Fashionistas/os are willing to branch out of their personal style right away. But a new year brings about progress. And, there’s no better way to welcome that change than with an adventurous equestrian piece. Prepare your wardrobe past New Year’s Eve and make sure that you take the reins on all the fabulous things to come.
